AMS Onsite Appoints Ellsworth Harris As CEO

5/19/20

Ellsworth Harris

AMS Onsite, the nation's leading infection control and prevention clinical practice dedicated exclusively to the long-term care community, today announced that Ellsworth Harris has been named Chief Executive Officer. In his new role at a time when the company is poised for dynamic growth, Harris, who co-founded AMS Onsite in 2018 with Chairman Patrick Britton-Harr, will now be responsible for leading the company's operations and business development, while Britton-Harr will focus on strategic initiatives.

Harris' appointment comes at a critical point in the long-term care industry, as the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for sound, comprehensive infection control and prevention (ICP) programs at our nation's more than 15,000 long-term and post-acute care facilities. AMS Onsite's certified infection preventionists deliver infection control leadership, support and training to meet the heightened infection control standards adopted by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

"El's demonstrated leadership in growing sales and effectively leading and inspiring teams in our industry is the perfect complement for our growing company during this vital time," said AMS Onsite Chairman Patrick Britton-Harr. "We are ardently committed to keeping long-term care residents and staff safe and healthy through effective infection control measures and his leadership will enable us to help more long-term and post-acute care facilities implement sound ICP programs."

Added AMS Onsite CEO Ellsworth Harris, "Several years ago, I took a keen interest in following issues related to antibiotic resistance and infection prevention in long-term care. It was clear then -- as it is even more so today -- that new care models are needed to serve and support our nursing home population. I'm honored and humbled to lead this 'front-lines' clinical practice."

Harris has served in various operations and business development roles in the long-term care community for more than 15 years, working alongside executives, operations and ancillary service providers. Most recently, he served as chief sales and marketing officer at Real Time Medical Systems, where sales during his tenure increased 1,000%. Harris currently serves as a consultant and board member for two early stage companies devoted to long-term care, and serves as a mentor to those in the community. Prior to his departure from Real Time, Harris worked with AMS Onsite to embed their 24/7 remote infection risk assessment tools into the AMS Onsite clinical practice.
