Maryland HIMSS announces new Board of Directors with top talent from University of Maryland Medical System, Johns Hopkins Medicine, MedStar Health, Calvert Memorial joined by a former official at ONC and many others in local industry to guide strategy of growing professional organization.
Over the last few months, the Maryland Chapter of Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conducted their annual call for applications for vacant board positions and corresponding election.
The requirements set forth by HIMSS National are: Officers and Directors of the Board must be members in good standing of National HIMSS and of the Maryland Chapter for at least 1 year in order to serve on the board.

The Board of Directors are responsible for overseeing the chapter’s operations, while maintaining our commitment to its mission around professional advancement, networking and educational programs. This involves establishing strategic direction, ensuring compliance with all applicable legal requirements, and keeping the chapter financially healthy. As one of the largest chapters, with over 2000 members, Maryland HIMSS is considered a leader in programming across Maryland, D.C., Virginia, and Delaware.
