Baltimore Community Foundation Adds John Angelos and Brandon Etheridge to Board

The Baltimore Community Foundation Board of Trustees has elected John P. Angelos and Brandon Etheridge to the board.

The Baltimore Community Foundation was established by community leaders in 1972 to provide a way for individual philanthropists to pool resources and work together to improve the Baltimore region. BCF is led by a board of trustees which provides oversight for BCF’s work to build a better Baltimore, using grantmaking, initiatives, advocacy and impact investing.

“We are very lucky to welcome both Mr. Angelos and Mr. Etheridge to our board,” says Laura Gamble, chair of BCF’s Board of Trustees. “Mr. Angelos’ leadership and managerial experience with the Orioles’ is well known by many Baltimoreans. Mr. Etheridge’s is a well-respected member of the legal community with a deep commitment to Baltimore. Their combined passions, talents, and experience will be invaluable to the board as it advances BCF’s philanthropic leadership in Baltimore, and works at the intersection of schools and neighborhoods.”

John P. Angelos is the Executive Vice President of the Baltimore Orioles, a position he has held since April 1999, leading the club's front office and overseeing day-to-day business operations. He also serves as President and Chief Operating Officer of the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN), overseeing the network's business operations. He oversees the Orioles’ marketing and advertising, branding and promotion, major corporate sponsorship sales and ticket sales, governmental and public affairs, media and public relations, ballpark facility design and management, event operations, concessions rights negotiation and self-operation. Mr. Angelos is a graduate of Duke University and received his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law.

Brandon Etheridge has served as the Baltimore Ravens’ general counsel since 2016, working closely with team president Dick Cass to implement strategic initiatives and provide legal representation and perspective. He is a member of the Maryland and D.C. Bar Associations, and prior to his time at the NFL, he worked for the international law firm of Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C., representing numerous clients in the sports industry, including the NFL. He serves the board of Baltimore Homecoming Inc. Mr. Etheridge currently serves on BCF’s Race, Equity & Inclusion Committee. Mr. Etheridge earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Yale University, where he was also a two-time varsity letterman on the football team. He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School.
