Baltimore, MD (March 11, 2019) – The Mullan Contracting Company has captured an Excellence Award from the Baltimore Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) for the construction of Gilpin Manor Elementary School. Located at 203 Newark Avenue in Elkton, Maryland in Cecil County, Mullan Contracting completed a ground-up construction of a 65,750 square foot school, which was delivered last year. This was followed by the demolition of the former school and the current completion of final site work.
Featuring a brick veneer exterior, the building consists of a partial two-story structure with the wing element containing the classrooms. The school also includes a gymnasium, cafeteria and administrative offices. Approximately 500 students are currently enrolled at Gilpin Manor Elementary School, which is located near MD Route 279 (Elkton Road) and MD Route 268 (North Street).

This latest project was thoughtfully designed to address the school’s long-term educational needs serving an expanding Cecil County population.”
