Grand Opening Celebration and Ribbon Cutting Scheduled for March 20, 2019 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Hospitality Development Company Group (HDCG), a minority-owned hotel development and management company specializing in Marriott hotels, has opened the Courtyard by Marriott Bowie. The Courtyard is located at 16800 Science Drive, Bowie, Maryland in the mixed-use community Melford Town Center (formerly the University of Maryland Science and Technology Center), located at the intersections of Routes 3 and 301 and Route 50 in Prince Georges County. The official grand opening celebration will be held at the hotel on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 4:30 p.m.

Courtyard Bowie has 144 guest rooms, conference and meeting facilities,an indoor swimming pool, exercise room, restaurant and bar, and an outdoor courtyard with a fire pit. The hotel has been designed for LEED certification by the U.S. Green Building Council, attesting to the importance that HDCG places on sustainability.

Courtyard Bowie is Phase I of the development of a hotel park at the 11-acre Bowie site. This Marriott Hotel Park at Melford Town Center also will include a Residence Inn (Phase II), consisting of 125 suites, and a SpringHill Suites (Phase III), consisting of 100 Suites. All three hotels will be developed for LEED certification.

HDCG currently owns and operates two other Marriott-brand hotels in Maryland, one in Prince Georges County and the other in Anne Arundel County.
