JoAnn Kubica
Unified Community Connections, a nonprofit agency serving children and adults with disabilities throughout Maryland, named JoAnn Kubica to its board of directors. Kubica has 22 years of medical coding and compliance experience in the health care industry.
Kubica is the vice president of compliance and privacy officer for the Kennedy Krieger Institute. She also facilitates health care administration courses for University of Phoenix.
Over the last two decades, Kubica held positions of escalating responsibility in health care administration including director of compliance and auditing and the director of managed care operations at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. She also gained experience as manager of medical coding audit and education for the Pediatrix Medical Group.
Kubica holds an MBA with a concentration in health care administration from Mount St. Mary’s College and earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Western Maryland College. She is certified in health care compliance, health care privacy compliance, health care research compliance and as a professional coder, compliance officer and medical auditor.
