10/11/18

GAITHERSBURG, Md., Oct. 11, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- DecisionPoint Corporation today announced the acquisition of CORTEK, Inc., a Fredericksburg, VA-based provider of mission support services to the federal government. Under terms of the agreement, CORTEK becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary of DecisionPoint.

“We are excited to welcome CORTEK – its employees and customers – to the DecisionPoint team,” said Brian Flood, President and CEO, DecisionPoint Corporation. “The acquisition of CORTEK with its extensive experience providing mission support services in the defense and national security space combined with its commitment to operational excellence is key to DecisionPoint’s growth strategy.”

At the same time, the company announced the appointment of Paul Fernandes as President of CORTEK. Fernandes has more than three decades of experience in government contracting, working with small and large companies in the defense, intelligence and national security markets. Fernandes was most recently President and COO of STG, Inc. and helped the company grow from a small business to a government contracting powerhouse with more than $275 million in annual revenues.

“The acquisition of CORTEK by DecisionPoint creates a powerful new player in government contracting,” said Fernandes. “The marriage of CORTEK mission support skills with the DecisionPoint portfolio of IT and program support will allow us to better support our government customers and bring new skillsets to our industry partners. I couldn’t be more excited or proud to lead this new team.”

Longtime industry veteran Simon Lee, founder and Chairman of the Board of STG, becomes Chairman of the Board of DecisionPoint Corp. with the acquisition.

CORTEK CEO Tony Seals will stay on as a consultant to DecisionPoint, helping to migrate employees and customers to the new company. CORTEK will retain its Fredericksburg presence.
