JC Scott
The Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA), the national trade association representing America's pharmacy benefit managers, has named JC Scott the association's next President and CEO, effective October 15. Scott is currently the Chief Advocacy Officer for the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed).
"JC is an exceptional choice with a tremendous record of accomplishments, both in the regulatory sphere as well as legislatively," said PCMA Board Chairman Tim Wentworth of Express Scripts. "He has the policy depth and acumen in federal and state advocacy that will serve our association and industry well, and set us on new paths of success moving forward. On behalf of the board, I also want to thank Mark Merritt for his 15 years of exemplary service to our industry and organization and appreciate his willingness to help with the transition."
"I'm extremely excited about this opportunity to represent an industry that lowers costs, protects consumers, and delivers value for millions of Americans," said Scott. "PBMs are central to solving the health care challenges facing our nation and are ready to be partners in driving real solutions. I look forward to working with these companies to help improve access to affordable prescription drugs."
At AdvaMed, Scott led all external affairs activities for the association - coordinating the government affairs, grassroots, media relations, communications and alliance development components on behalf of the medical device and technology industry.
Prior to joining AdvaMed in 2011, Scott served as Senior Vice President of Federal Relations of the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI). Scott has also served in various capacities in the House of Representatives, most recently as Deputy Director of Policy for the House Republican Conference. Scott also served as a Committee Associate with the Select Committee on Homeland Security, formed after September 11, 2001 and as Legislative Director for former-Representative Deborah Pryce of Ohio, among other positions.
PCMA is the national association representing America's pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs).
