DLA Piper’s Dallas Office to Move to 1900 Pearl Street in Arts District

8/20/18

DLA Piper announced today that the firm will move its Dallas office to 1900 Pearl Street, a newly developed office building overlooking Klyde Warren Park in the Dallas Arts District, in early 2019. The office is currently located at 1717 Main Street.

DLA Piper will occupy the 21st and 22nd floors of the building, leasing a total of 44,570 square feet, with the option to expand. The building, which opened in spring 2018, was developed by Lincoln Property Company. The Arts District is an energetic neighborhood that is home to some of Dallas’ most significant cultural landmarks for the visual and performing arts, including the Dallas Museum of Art and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.

“As we continue to strategically grow our capabilities in Dallas, we are thrilled to be moving into a modern and efficient workspace that will allow us to focus on providing first-rate client service,” said Marc Katz, managing partner of the Dallas office. “This move demonstrates our commitment to the city of Dallas and to our future growth here and will provide a dynamic environment to meet the needs of our expanding workforce.”

The firm has added significantly to its roster of lawyers in Dallas this year, growing from five attorneys in January to 30, with the expectation of additional growth by year’s end. The expansion in Dallas has included the addition of Employment partners Marc Katz and Isabel Crosby; Corporate partner Steven Bartz; and Litigation partners Jason Lewis, Jason Hopkins, Rob Hoffman, Michael Moore and Matthew Nickel.

DLA Piper’s regional growth has not been limited to Dallas. The firm’s focus on improving its overall platform in Texas is also evident through its investment in the Austin and Houston offices. The Austin office has grown from 30 to 45 lawyers since the beginning of the year and welcomed recent additions such as a six-partner leading investment funds practice. Both offices have seen highly regarded Corporate and Litigation partners join in the past year.

DLA Piper's Dallas office is comprised of lawyers who focus on a broad range of practices and sectors, including corporate and securities, emerging companies, labor and employment, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, real estate, restructuring and venture capital.

Lincoln Property Company is one of the largest and most diversified real estate companies in the United States, offering a comprehensive suite of value-added services for its clients, including asset and property management, construction management, development and build-to-suit services, investments/acquisitions and landlord representation. Lincoln's commercial group has developed more than 130 million square feet of commercial space and currently manages over 170 million square feet of space across the United States.
