Maryland medical cannabis growers and processors association selects new Executive Committee heading into 2019
The Maryland Wholesale Medical Cannabis Trade Association (CANMD) announced today that Mackie Barch has been selected as the association’s board chair. Mr. Barch is Managing Partner and President of Culta, a Maryland based medical cannabis company with cultivation, processing and dispensary operations. Mr. Barch previously served CANMD’s Vice Chair.
“I’m excited to continue CANMD’s efforts to foster a favorable social, economic and legal climate for Maryland’s medical cannabis program,” said Mr. Barch, Chair, CANMD. “CANMD has accomplished a great deal since our founding in 2016 – helping to get Maryland’s medical cannabis program up and running and putting medicine into the hands of patients, ending costly litigation, and working with Maryland’s Medical Cannabis Commission and the Maryland General Assembly. Moving forward, CANMD will play an even bigger role helping to educate patients and serving as a resource for doctors and policymakers.”
Members of CANMD’s Board of Directors also selected a new Executive Committee to help guide the association’s activities in 2019. Andy Cohen will serve as Vice Chair. Reggie Alston will continue to serve as CANMD’s Treasurer, and Wendy Bronfein will serve as Secretary. Four at-large committee members were also selected. The full committee is listed below.

About Mackie Barch, Board Chair
Mackie Barch is Managing Partner and President of Culta, a Maryland based medical cannabis company with cultivation, processing and dispensary operations. Mr. Barch joined Culta in July 2014, spearheading the Company’s efforts in Maryland. Mackie is also the Managing Partner of Trellis Holdings Oregon, a recreational cannabis company in Oregon operating an outdoor cultivation and retail dispensary.
Mr. Barch graduated from the University of Colorado-Boulder with a BA in Economics.
