Gabriella Colarusso

FAI Wealth Management, a leading fee-only wealth management firm in the Baltimore-Washington region, announced that Gabriella Colarusso has joined the Board of Directors for HopeWorks of Howard County, Maryland. HopeWorks is a non-profit agency providing support, services, and advocacy for women, men, and children impacted by sexual assault and domestic violence in Howard County. The organization’s extensive outreach efforts are designed to facilitate hope and safety in the greater community by providing education programs and ongoing communications.

Colarusso learned of HopeWorks during her participation in the Leadership Essentials program, a six-month leadership development program offered through Loyola University Maryland’s Sellinger School of Business in collaboration with Leadership Howard County. There, she participated in working with non-profit HopeWorks for a social justice project. The project involved the development of a website timeline to be utilized in conjunction with the organization’s 40th anniversary in 2018. Colarusso is currently serving her first term on the HopeWorks board of directors, where she is also a member of the Fundraising Committee. In this role, she attends meetings, fundraisers, and creates awareness for HopeWorks throughout the community.

Colarussio’s board appointment complements her position at FAI Wealth Management, where she is the firm’s office assistant. There, Colarusso is responsible for a number of marketing efforts in addition to her clerical duties. She updates FAI’s website content and social media pages, and executes client and staff events, creates marketing materials, and sends client e-newsletters and e-blasts.

A graduate of Mount St. Mary's University, Colarusso enjoys being an active volunteer in her community. “I have always enjoyed volunteering my time to make a difference and after seeing the impact HopeWorks has made in Howard County and continues to make, there was no question about joining to spread awareness on the issues we are facing in our community today,” she said. “I hope that in doing so, we can create a safer world were people do not have to seek out places like HopeWorks to live healthy, safe lives.”

About HopeWorks: HopeWorks of Howard County, formerly known as the Domestic Violence Center, works to promote a community in which sexual and domestic violence is not tolerated and where victims of violence can get individualized, comprehensive services, including shelter, counseling, advocacy, and legal services.
