Brew House No. 16, the brewery and restaurant occupying an old firehouse in Mount Vernon, is planning to relaunch this weekend with an updated menu and new beer offerings.

The restaurant has a new chef and two new brewmasters, and the updated menu will pair with three new brews that will be on offer during the relaunch party on April 21, says manager Kevin Toler.

Previously, one of the co-owners, Ian Hummel, served as brewmaster, but Toler says Hummel left last October. Bringing on two people, Nicholas Samodurov and Adam Silver, in Hummel’s place has allowed for an increase in productivity.

“Now the production of the beer is happening a lot faster,” says Toler. “I’m not saying the quality of the beer has changed at all, but when you have two people, they can work a lot faster than one.”
