The Soft Opening For Mount Vernon’s New Rooftop Bar, Topside

4/12/18

It seems Topside, a brand new rooftop bar crowning the also-new 107-room Hotel Revival in Mount Vernon, timed its soft opening just right to coincide with the warm-weather kickoff of spring. Starting at 5 p.m. today, the new spot, billed as a “seafood-centric, elevated beer hall,” will be pouring drinks for all who journey up to the 14th floor for the view.

Thereafter, Topside will be open 5-10 p.m. Mondays, 5-11 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays and 5 p.m.-midnight Thursday through Saturday. Starting April 22, brunch will also be served Sundays from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., and the bar will reopen from 5-9 p.m. for the evening.

As Ed Gunts first reported here in April 2017, the Revival is the new name for the renovated Mount Vernon Hotel (previous iterations included the Wyndham Baltimore and Peabody Court), a project undertaken by boutique hospitality chain Joie de Vivre. The effort was extensive, even entailing the removal of the old glass windows and framing for the top floor that once housed the Citronelle restaurant. In addition to Topside, the roof now holds a creative American eatery dubbed Square Meal.
