Junior Achievement of Central Maryland Inc. (JA), a non-profit organization dedicated to educating young people to succeed in a rapidly changing economy, announced today that Tim Braue, Principal of Nemphos Braue LLC, has been named a member of its Board of Directors.

Braue has more than twenty years of experience in the legal and government affairs industries, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions and venture capital. Throughout his career, he has led transaction teams in complex, multibillion-dollar financing and acquisitions. Before forming Nemphos Braue, he was special counsel at Duane Morris LLP and an associate at DLA Piper. Braue has also served in high-level positions in both the federal and Maryland state government.

“Tim’s experience in law and public service displays his dedication to his craft and our community,” said Jennifer Bodensiek, President and CEO for JA of Central Maryland. “We are excited to add Tim to the team, and we believe his law expertise and insight will be valuable in our mission to expand our programs.”

Braue served in the White House as Deputy Associate Director of Presidential Personnel and was later appointed by President George W. Bush to be the Counsel to the Attorney General in the U.S Department of Justice. Braue was the Deputy Secretary of Appointments for Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr., and he also led Governor Larry Hogan’s transition team for economic development and education agencies. At Nemphos Braue, he focuses his practice on sophisticated corporate transactions and represents private companies, venture capital investors and private equity funds. He is also the President of Old Line Government Affairs, LLC.

“It’s truly an honor for me to be able to serve on the Board of Junior Achievement,” said Braue. “I am passionate about JA’s mission of teaching young people about financial literacy and entrepreneurship, and I look forward to contributing to the success of our next generation of business leaders through my efforts on behalf of this incredible organization.”

Braue graduated from Valparaiso University School of Law, and he earned his bachelor degree from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in Economics and Political Science. In 2016, Braue was honored with SmartCEO’s Center of Influence Award for his work advising Baltimore’s top CEOs.
