House of Cards' Home of Frank & Claire Underwood Up For Auction

6/15/17

Alex Cooper, a Baltimore-based Auctioneer, has been chosen to auction the home of Francis & Claire Underwood from the award-winning Netflix Original Series, House of Cards. The exterior was featured on the show, and a set was built for scenes inside the home by models that mirrored the interior. The grand, 19th century, all brick, Victorian-style home is located in the Bolton Hill neighborhood of Baltimore and has undergone an award-winning remodel of its own.

Highlights of the historic, 4,600+ square-foot single-family residence include: 12+ foot ceilings, 5 fireplaces, dual staircases, original pocket doors with etched glass and transoms, a 3-story light well, which fills the whole house with light and fresh air, a rear patio, and an oversized 2-car garage with a roof-top deck. Other notable features of the home are four levels of luxury living space, a large gourmet kitchen, recently-installed central air conditioning, and a full-floor master suite comprised of a spacious bedroom, professional office with a skylight, large closet and dressing room and a spa-style master bath.

“We are privileged to have been selected to host the auction of such an incredible and well-designed home,” Jared Block, the property listing agent for Alex Cooper. “The property is immaculately maintained and its award-winning design seamlessly blends old Baltimore historic charm with modern amenities. It is great opportunity for Baltimore and Washington D.C. professionals to own a unique property. It is no surprise it was chosen by Netflix to be the home of House of Cards’ central characters, Francis and Claire Underwood. We continue to build on our strong reputation in the real estate market and look forward to growing our listings as more people understand the value of using an auctioneer versus a traditional real estate agent.”

The auction will be held on Thursday, July 27th at 1:00 p.m. at the residence located at 1609 Park Avenue. The current owners are willing to entertain offers prior to the auction. The opening bid will begin at $500,000, with no online bidding.
