Gourmet sandwich shop and bakery with five locations now scouting new locations in Baltimore City, Montgomery County and near BWI Airport in Anne Arundel County
Bon Fresco, a locally-owned sandwich shop and bakery, has opened its first location in the Baltimore County area at Boulevard College Center in Owings Mills. Representing its fifth restaurant in the local region, with two each in Laurel and Columbia, the fast-casual restaurant is now searching for expansion sites in the Fells Point section of Baltimore City, Montgomery County and near Baltimore-Washington International Airport in Anne Arundel County. Boulevard College Center, a project of David S. Brown Enterprises, also features restaurants Bonefish Grill, Edo Sushi, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, IHOP, Pie Five Pizza Co., Outback Steakhouse, Stone’s Cove Kitbar and Subway.

Ken Bernstein of David S. Brown Enterprises represented the landlord in this transaction. Approximately twelve employees are expected to work at the restaurant.
“Our sandwiches are differentiated by our bread, which we bake from scratch daily and on-site,” explained James Yoon, President of the Owings Mills Bon Fresco location. “The consistent feedback we receive is that our customers are loyal to us because of our bread. It truly makes the difference between a good and a great sandwich. Our special bread varieties include ciabatta, French baguette, walnut whole wheat and focaccia. It is truly all about the bread. In addition, we are extremely health-oriented and use little to no processed ingredients.”
Bon Fresco sandwich menu items include London broil, grilled chicken breast baguette, corned beef, prosciutto and tomato and mozzarella. Additional sandwiches, made with picante sauce, are picante chicken, Italian, turkey and tuna, among others. Consumers have their choice of a rotating variety of seven homemade soups such as spicy peanut, vegetable, chicken noodle, lentil and saffron tomato. Specialty salads include chicken Caesar, curry chicken as well as a variety of vegetarian options.
Boulevard College Center is a mixed-use development fronting Owings Mills Boulevard, and is located adjacent to Stevenson University near the intersection of Reisterstown Road and Interstate 795. The project contains Class “A” office space, ground floor retail shops and free-standing buildings housing fast-casual and sit-down restaurants.
“After conducting site searches throughout Baltimore County, we were attracted to the diverse demographics surrounding Boulevard College Center, highlighted by the students that can walk to our restaurant from Stevenson University, the many residential neighborhoods and the nearby business communities,” Yoon said. “This area is growing dramatically, and we are confident that each target audience will recognize the quality ingredients that we use for every sandwich, soup and salad.”
“Bon Fresco has a proven formula that has resulted in long-term success at each restaurant location, and this is the perfect addition to Boulevard College Center based on its unique product offering focused on the use of fresh bread,” stated Ken Bernstein of David Brown Enterprises. “They have a built-in audience with the adjacent university and business park, and feel they will attract consumers searching for healthy lunch and dinner alternatives from a large radius.”
