H&R Retail, a Washington, DC/Baltimore-based retail real estate brokerage firm, represented Verts Mediterranean Grill in a lease for its first Washington-area restaurant. It will be prominently located at 1001 Connecticut Ave. on the corner of Connecticut Ave. and K St. in downtown Washington’s Golden Triangle.
Bradley Buslik and Lisa Ridgeway with H&R Retail represented Verts in the transaction for 2,063 square feet.
A summer or fall opening is slated.
“We are pleased to have completed this lease for the first Verts Mediterranean Grill in the Washington region,” said Mr. Buslik. “Verts is one of the fastest-growing, award-winning food concepts in the country and will be a great addition to the downtown Washington restaurant scene.”
Verts is a fast-casual concept that serves Mediterranean food created fresh daily. Menu items include pita, quinoa bowl, rice bowl or salad featuring meat or hand-made falafel, veggies, and sauces.
After graduating from business school at the University of Texas at Austin, co-founders Michael Heyne and Dominik Stein launched Verts in 2011 with the simple idea of reimagining the popular Mediterranean food they missed from their native Europe and making it available for American consumers.
The company has opened more than 20 restaurants across Texas (Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio) and the East Coast (Boston, New York, and Philadelphia). And with the new location in Washington, DC, its expansion will continue throughout 2017.
