Long & Foster Insurance Appoints Vernon Hawkins and Leah Sneed as Regional Managers

12/30/16

Long & Foster Insurance, a leading independent insurance agency that represents many of the nation's top rated insurance companies, welcomes two new regional managers to its team. The new managers include Leah Sneed, who will oversee the Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C., region, and Vernon Hawkins, who will oversee the Montgomery County and southern Maryland region. Additionally, Bryan Baker, who was previously serving as the company’s regional manager for Northern Virginia and D.C., has been named as regional manager for the Baltimore region.

“We’re excited to welcome Leah and Vernon to the Long & Foster family,” said Patrick Bain, president of Long & Foster Insurance. “For more than four decades, Long & Foster Insurance has offered superior service and excellent insurance products in the Mid-Atlantic area, and we know that Leah and Vernon will be great additions to our team of professionals, ensuring our clients are offered the highest-quality insurance products at the best possible rates.”

Hawkins has been with Long & Foster Insurance for 14 years and has worked in the insurance industry for 26 years. He began his career in insurance as a property claims agent with GEICO, and also worked as an underwriter, trainer and claims resolution specialist before joining Long & Foster. During his time with Long & Foster Insurance, he has worked in more than 45 offices in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Delaware and West Virginia, and has consistently been a top insurance manager with the company.

Sneed has been a sales professional for more than 20 years and began her sales career as a real estate agent in Atlanta in 1996. For the last 10 years, she has worked in business-to-business sales, with seven years as a national account professional working with Fortune 500 companies. Her philosophy is that all customers should be treated the way she wants others to treat her family, and she prioritizes a personalized customer experience in her role with Long & Foster. The Atlanta native now resides in Ashburn, Virginia.

Baker joined Long & Foster Insurance as an insurance manager in 2011, assisting clients in purchasing insurance for their homes and property. He was promoted to Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C., regional manager in 2014 and will now hold the same role as regional manager for the Baltimore area. Previously, he worked in insurance sales for Liberty Mutual Insurance and prior to that he was a corporate accounts manager for Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

Long & Foster Insurance offers a wide range of insurance products, including homeowners, health, auto and business insurance, at competitive prices from many leading insurance companies. The company is represented by agents all along the East Coast, from North Carolina to New Jersey.

Long & Foster Insurance is focused on growing its business throughout the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast and the Carolinas, and the addition of these new regional managers aligns with the company's long-term growth strategy, according to Bain. For more information, visit LongandFoster.com.
