Popular Baltimore modern-furniture store brings together original designs from around the world in one showroom
Home on the Harbor, Baltimore’s premier destination for high-quality, modern furniture and home décor, today announced the completion of its renovated showroom on Key Highway and new store name—Design Distillery. To celebrate, the shop will be giving away limited edition Design Distillery glass water bottles with silicon sleeves to the first 50 people who spend a minimum of $50 from Saturday, December 3—Sunday, December 4. Customers will also be entered to win a $500 gift card. In addition, Design Distillery will donate a portion of the proceeds to Youth Empowered Society (YES), a drop-in center for homeless youth.
Since its inception 14 years ago, Design Distillery has grown from a small, vintage storefront on Charles Street in Baltimore’s Federal Hill neighborhood to the 9,500 square-foot shop it is today, and has continuously changed the way customers think about furniture.
“Everyone has an inner designer, and our greatest achievement is inspiring customers to confidently select pieces that they’ll love for a lifetime,” said Karen Graveline, founder and owner of Design Distillery. “The decision to rebrand as Design Distillery only strengthens that core value, and our goal is to ensure that idea is boldly reflected in each item found in our store.”
Using a collaborative, multi-faceted coaching strategy, the Design Distillery team empowers customers by guiding them through the interior design and furniture shopping process to create comfortable, functional and stylish results. As a home design trend curator, the shop showcases more than 50 different local and international furniture and accessory lines including Knoll, Blu Dot, Gus Modern, American Leather and Normann Coppenhagen, and is the only store in the U.S. to be featured as a “shop-in-shop” for the popular French outdoor furniture manufacturer, Fermob.
“We believe good design not only makes life easier and more enjoyable, but evokes an unparalleled feeling of excitement,” said Seth Kaiser, designer at Design Distillery. “We are on a mission to find customers what they need to realize their ultimate vision. As we guide them towards pieces that match their unique style and personality, we hope to transform how people view design and share our passion with everyone who encounters our shop.”
Often referred to as furniture head hunters, the Design Distillery team turns clients’ ideas into a cohesive design that’s all their own. The process begins with creating a comprehensive design plan tailored to the customer’s needs. Determining a color palette that complements the space and adjacent rooms follows, before selecting the furnishings and final touches to complete the room within the client’s timeline.
Design Distillery is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Stay connected by following@ddistilleryon Instagram. For more information, visitDDistillery.com.
