Destin Chiropractice, a chiropractic practice owned by Mike Kalustian and Kathryn Clower, and Destination Little Donuts, operated by entrepreneur Jamie Habel, have signed leases with Continental Realty Corporation for space within Plantation Commons, a 126,375 square foot neighborhood shopping center located at 4495 Commons Drive West in Destin. The center is anchored by The Fresh Market, Marshall’s, Destin Health and Fitness Club and HomeGoods, and is owned and managed by Continental Realty Corporation.
Destination Little Donuts features more than fifty varieties of freshly-made doughnut flavors including the E.T. Phone Home with crushed Reece’s Pieces, Keylime Pie and The Redfish, which is topped with gummy Swedish Fish. A baker for more than twenty years, owner Jamie Habel transforms cake donuts into works of art by adorning them specialty toppings including M&Ms, and malt balls. The bakery is now open.
Destin Chiropractic provides whole body wellness and chiropractic care services to people of all ages, with a focus on pediatrics and sports-related injuries. While completing their studies, the two chiropractors interned with a doctor that handled chiropractic services for the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs. The practice is expected to open at the end of September.
“Both tenants were attracted to Plantation Commons because they were impressed with the consistently high volume of traffic and consumers at the shopping center,” explained David Donato, Senior Vice President of Continental Realty’s Commercial Division. “The tenant mix is significantly improved with these additions.”
“The center’s accessibility to Fort Walton, Niceville and Mirimar Beach was a significant factor for us,” explained Mike Kalustian. “After scouting many different locations, we believe this project exposes us to the greatest number of people that would be receptive to our chiropractic model.”
Plantation Commons, constructed in 2007, is located at the intersection of Commons Drive and Kelly Plantation Drive, just off Emerald Coast Parkway (FL Route 98), the major thoroughfare in Destin. It is within close proximity to Kelly Plantation, a 900-acre residential community that contains waterfront golf estates, luxury condominiums and single-family homes. The average annual household income within three miles exceeds $104,000 and the immediate area receives more than 4.6 million tourists annually.
Continental Realty Corporation, headquartered in Baltimore and founded in 1960, is a full-service commercial real estate investment and management company. The privately-owned firm owns and manages a diversified portfolio of retail centers consisting of more than three million square feet of space, as well as apartment communities featuring more than 8,000 units.
