New Life Time Athletic Gaithersburg set to open October 20 offers innovative Kids Academy with healthy programs all in one great place

Exposing kids to extracurricular activities can be a boon to their self-confidence, skill development, leadership and good health. But in the Washington, D.C. Metro Region, where nightmare traffic jams and challenging work schedules can make logistics stressful, choices are often limited that give families—both parents and their kids—innovative, healthy programs all under one roof.

Many parents struggle with getting their kids to karate, language, yoga or music lessons, dance, swimming, tumbling or arts and crafts classes.   And the transportation time, and costs for these activities, add up fast.

Enter Life Time Kids Academy, a new and unique offering at the new Life Time Gaithersburg Athletic set to open on October 20 at 10121 Washingtonian Boulevard, just off Interstate 270. Life Time Kids Academy provides children, ages 3 months to 11 years, with a variety of healthy activities throughout the school year, including during school breaks.  Other activities include birthday parties, arts and culture, nutrition, Spanish immersion, sports and martial arts, school break camps and computer classes.

Programs and activities are available for infants, toddlers, pre-school and grade-school age children. Parents can bring their children to Kids Academy for up to two hours a day while they remain in the club.

The new, 125,000-square-foot Life Time Athletic Gaithersburg will offer members a unique-to-the-area indoor and outdoor aquatics centers with zero-depth entry and lap pools; five dedicated group exercise, cycle, Pilates and LifePower Yoga studios; 400 pieces of best-in-class cardiovascular and resistance training equipment; and two full-size indoor basketball courts.

In addition, the destination will feature LifeSpa, offering full-service hair, nail and skin care services and therapeutic massage as well as LifeCafe, serving healthy food and beverages free of trans fats, bleached flours, and artificial flavors, colors, preservatives and sweeteners.

Life Time Athletic Gaithersburg will be the company’s 122nd destination in the United States and Canada, and the first all-in-one sports, professional fitness, family recreation and spa athletic resort in Gaithersburg. Life Time operates six other locations in the Washington metro area including Centreville, Columbia, Fairfax, Loudoun County, Reston and Rockville.
