Former Jos. A. Bank Executive Opening New Store Two Doors Down

“You can either get down or you can get back on your feet,” former Jos. A. Bank executive Steve Marshall told Baltimore Business Journal. Sometimes getting back on your feet looks like opening your own menswear retail shop two doors down from your old digs.Marshall left Jos. A. Bank shortly after it was acquired by Mens Wearhouse (which put an end to a back-and-forth in which each company made attempts to buy out the other). Marshall’s new company, Wilkes & Riley, has enjoyed an online-only existence since its launch in December 2015. But according to BBJ, its first 3,000 square-foot, brick-and-mortar store will open Oct. 10 at the Shops at Kenilworth, a place Marshall called his “No. 1” location.

The entrepreneur predicted a boom for the Towson mall, which will see a Trader Joe’s open in 2017.
