8/31/16

Hercules Living, a family-owned and operated multifamily regional developer headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia, has begun the pre-leasing process for its newest tax credit apartment community under construction in historic Olde Towne.

Hercules Living teamed with their development arm, RST Development, LLC, and construction arm, Triangle Construction, both of Rockville, MD, to develop the 199-unit community. Award-winning Hercules Living now owns and manages over 40 properties, including more than 8,000 apartments in seven states.

Crossings at Olde Towne sits on a 2.5-acre historical site previously called The Gaithersburg Wye. The location was the terminating point for trains coming from Washington to Gaithersburg. Trains used this terminus as far back as 1888 to reverse direction and return to DC.

This unique, residential apartment community features one, two and three bedroom homes of some of the freshest apartment design in the area. Crossings at Olde Towne will offer many unique amenities, which will include an onsite pool with picnic area, grilling stations, an outdoor fire pit, and a rain garden. Residents will be provided covered parking in the adjacent garage.

"I think one of the things I am most proud of is how well the design of the building compliments the area and historical significance of the site," said Scott Copeland, principal of RST Development. "Yet, it is modern and provides a beautiful urban edge for the Olde Towne's revitalization effort. We are proud to be a part of this movement and contribute a significant development to the area."

The Crossing at Olde Towne Temporary Leasing Center is currently located at 17-C N. Summit Street,Gaithersburg, MD 20877. Applications are now being accepted by appointment only Monday through Friday8:30 AM to 5:30 PM and Saturday 10 AM to 5:00 PM.
