Long-time Clinton, MD associates help cut the ribbon!

Ceremony highlights store upgrades, commitment to community & associates

On Friday, August 26th, local associates provided a special welcome to members of the Clinton community as the Walmart Supercenter located at 8745 Branch Ave. in Clinton, MD hosted a grand reopening ceremony to celebrate the remodeling of the store. A brief ribbon-cutting ceremony was held followed by family activities and free food samples while supplies last.

The project represents Walmart’s reinvestment in the store, its customers, and the community.  The remodel provides a new fabrics department, an expanded electronics department and new registers. Customers can also expect a new and improved customer service center with Money Services and Walmart Pickup. Shopping is more convenient than ever as Clinton residents can shop millions of items on Walmart.com, many of which can be shipped for free to any Walmart store through Walmart Pickup.

The store includes a refreshed pharmacy with a full range of products, immunizations, and services. Walmart pharmacists are ready to assist customers with product and prescription questions. Clinton residents can easily transfer prescriptions and order refills on the go with the Walmart mobile app.

Store Manager Michelle Ezzell was one of three Walmart representatives who addressed attendees of the ribbon cutting ceremony, remarking, “it is an honor to be able to reintroduce this store, with our expanded offerings and fresh look, to our Clinton community today. This project represents our dedication to providing our neighbors with everything they need at our everyday low prices.”

Ezzell also thanked her store management team and associates, recognizing those associates who have been with the store since it first opened in 2013.

Three local not-for-profit organizations were also honored during this morning’s ceremony – Arnold Place, Still I Rise and Heart of America. Each organization received a grant in celebration of the Grand Reopening and had representatives at the event to participate in a ceremonial check presentation.

Walmart’s commitment to community goes beyond philanthropy. This investment is a whole company undertaking that is woven into Walmart’s day-to-day business activities, creating value by accelerating job mobility, developing suppliers and small businesses, lowering the environmental footprint of Walmart’s operations and more.
