Global fashion retailer opens new location in Frederick, MD on Thursday, August 18th

WHAT: H & M, Hennes & Mauritz AB (H&M), one of the world’s largest fashion retailers known for offering fashion-forward apparel and quality basics in a sustainable way, is excited to announce the opening of a new store at Francis Scott Key Mall.
Opening Thursday, August 18th at noon, H&M at the Francis Scott Key Mall will give shoppers in the Frederick area access to the latest trends at the best prices. The new location will offer collections for ladies, men, young ladies, and young men to separate “store within a store” sections for accessories, maternity and its plus sized line, HM+. The Francis Scott Key Malllocation will also carry H&M’s children’s collection for newborn to fourteen year olds.
By opening new stores across the country H&M adds jobs to the local economy. The retailer is proud to have hired approximately 30 employees for the store at Francis Scott Key Mall, almost all hired locally. H&M is the first fashion company to roll out a global garment recycling program. Through this initiative, H&M customers at Francis Scott Key Mall can help save natural resources and contribute to a reduced environmental impact by donating unwanted pieces of clothing from any brand while in the store. Customers will receive a voucher for 15% off their entire next purchase for each bag of donated clothing. Since 2013, approximately 75.4 million lbs. of garments have been collected globally. H&M was selected in 2015 as a U.S. EPA Green Power Leadership Award winner and placed 20th on the 2016 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World index.
To kick off the recycling program on opening day, customers who bring garments to be recycled before the store opens at noon will also have the chance to win H&M gift cards valued between $50 and $250, in addition to the 15% off voucher.
In celebration of opening day, H&M at Francis Scott Key Mall will offer the first 100 shoppers in line an H&M Access to Fashion Pass,valued from $10 to $300, in addition to other opening offers and fun giveaways!
