8/4/16

Maryland Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Association, a non-profit organization that supports the work of 15 local CASA programs throughout the state to ensure Maryland’s victims of child abuse and neglect their right to safe, permanent homes, announced today that four new members have been appointed to its Board of Directors.

The new board members are: Daniel Renz of Federal Hill, Rhonda Jones, EdD of Laurel, Sheena Roberts, M.H.A. of Randallstown, and Lieutenant S. Lansey-Delgado.

Renz, a federal government employee looks forward to supporting Maryland’s abused and neglected children, and helping to ensure them safe, permanent, and loving homes. “Child abuse and neglect is a sad reality, and our youth need individuals who will stand up for them and their rights in a complex legal system and, most importantly, ensure the child is comfortable and understands what is happening and the role each person plays in the legal proceedings, said Renz, a Methodist University, Towson University, and American University graduate.

Dr. Jones committed to the CASA board because she is committed to making sure that Maryland’s children and youth have the resources and support they need to be successful in life. A current CASA volunteer for Voices for Children of Howard County, she is currently the CEO & Managing Member of Human Capital Focus, LLC. The firm specializes in helping non-profit organizations align their human resource needs with their strategic goals. Ms. Roberts brings over 10 years of administration experience in both for-profit and not-for-profit sectors, and also looks forward to advocating for Maryland’s abused and neglected children. She earned her Bachelors of Science in biology from Morgan State University and went on to attain her Masters of Healthcare Administration from the University of Maryland, University College. She currently serves as a Health Care Administrator for the Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC), and is excited to serve her community, especially those who are social and economically disadvantaged.

A Baltimore native, she serves as Lieutenant for The Baltimore Police Department, Office of Administrative Hearings and is excited to assist Maryland CASA with its continued growth, fundraising, and development so that CASA can become a household known organization and name.
