Toni Infussi (Left with Trophy) and Murry Jordan
Tony Infussi, last year’s national champion, and maintenance technician at Donnybrook Apartments, nearly retains crown in event sponsored by National Apartment Association
Tony Infussi, a maintenance technician with Continental Realty Corporation (CRC), finished in the runner-up position in the 2016 Maintenance Mania® National Championship, in an event that replicates frequent maintenance activities performed in apartment units. Sponsored annually by the National Apartment Association, Mr. Infussi, who is assigned to the company’s Donnybrook Apartment community in Towson, was attempting to defend his own title as reigning national champion.
Starting with a pool of more than 4,000 competitors from around the country, the number was whittled down to twenty finalists based on the results of regional events, with the finals held recently in San Francisco. Continental Realty had two team members make it to the national competition. Murry Jordan, also a maintenance technician with Continental Realty Corporation finished in fourth place, and missed the third spot by two seconds.
Maintenance Mania® challenges maintenance technicians in eight skill-based games including installing door jams and refrigerator gaskets, replacing parts of a ceiling fan, swapping out a toilet fluid master and replacing a smoke/CO detector.
“Our team has consistently dominated the local competition since we began participating five years ago, and once again we take tremendous pride in watching Tony and Murry’s outstanding performance on a national stage championship,” explained Anne Angel, Vice President of Continental Realty Corporation. “Each of our maintenance technicians work diligently throughout the year to hone their skills, to provide the highest quality and most efficient work product to our apartment residents. We remain steadfast in our belief that there exists a direct correlation between their final rankings and the overall excellence they exhibit in the field on a daily basis.”
“I take tremendous pride in my work ethic on a daily basis, and I value the opportunity to showcase my technician skills against my peers in the industry on a national level each year,” Infussi explained. “My philosophy is anything worth doing is worth doing well. Recognizing that the competition we face each year seems to be betting better, our team remains dedicated to improving our skills, which benefits local apartment residents.”
