Strathmore Adds Three New Members To Board Of Directors

Roscoe M. Moore, Jr

On May 25, 2016, Strathmore’s Board of Directors welcomed two new board members to serve three-year terms beginning immediately. Additions to Strathmore’s board are Roscoe M. Moore, Jr., Founder and President of PH RockWood Corporation, and Y. Maria Martinez, Founder and CEO of Respira Medical, Inc. In addition, Evan Alan Goldman, Vice President of Land Acquisition and Development at EYA, was elected to a one-year term to fill the term of a former board member who left the area.

Roscoe M. Moore, Jr., a former Assistant United States Surgeon General, retired from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services with the rank of Rear Admiral. Dr. Moore trained as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and was a Senior Epidemiologist with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health of the CDC. His career includes service as the Chief Epidemiologist with the Food & Drug Administration Center for Devices and Radiological Health. He is currently the Founder and President of PH RockWood Corporation, where he continues his commitment to the prevention, treatment, and control of infectious diseases worldwide.

Y. Maria Martinez is the Founder and CEO of Respira Medical, a respiratory and durable medical equipment company located in Anne Arundel County, MD, and one of the largest clinical respiratory services and home medical equipment providers in the Mid-Atlantic region. Ms. Martinez was appointed by former Governor Martin O’Malley to serve as Chair for the Governor’s Commission on Hispanic Affairs, the Regulatory Oversight Board of the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund, and the Baltimore Workforce Investment Board. She has served on numerous boards including past Chair of the Maryland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Chair of Centro de la Comunidad, founding member of Women Impacting Public Policy and the executive committee of the Living Classrooms Foundation, and Chair of the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Evan Goldman is Vice President of Land Acquisition and Development at EYA, a developer known for its town home communities in metro accessible neighborhoods, including Bethesda’s Symphony Park. Prior to joining EYA, Mr. Goldman was Vice President of Development at Federal Realty Investment Trust in Rockville, MD. Mr. Goldman regularly guest lectures at DMV-area institutions including Georgetown University, George Washington University, Catholic University, and the University of Maryland College Park. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Urban Land Institute of Washington and was a founding Board Member of Friends of White Flint.
