Long & Foster’s Bethesda Gateway Office to Host Community Service Day

6/2/16

Annual event allows real estate agents, office to give back to the local community

The Bethesda Gateway office of Long & Foster Real Estate, the largest independent residential real estate company in the United States, will take part in the company’s 19th annual Community Service Day on June 8, 2016. The Bethesda Gateway office in Bethesda, Maryland, will join the brokerage’s over 220 offices in the day of giving back by holding a clothing and furniture drive at the office in support of A Wider Circle, which provides these items to the needy in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area year-round.

“There’s a real spirit of giving in our office,” said Leon Nasar, manager of Bethesda Gateway. “Several of our agents have been involved with A Wider Circle for quite a long time. We’ve got agents collecting and sorting clothes, others making pick-ups of furniture, and others getting the word out on social media. It’s a true group effort for a great cause.”

Long & Foster sales associates and employees from throughout the company, including staff from its headquarters located in Chantilly, Virginia, will participate in a variety of volunteer activities during Community Service Day. In past years, these activities included cleaning up, refurbishing and repairing nearby parks, schools, shelters, homes and day care centers, and providing other assistance to local organizations that offer crucial services to the community.

“At Long & Foster, we’re dedicated to supporting the communities in which we live and work and the Community Service Day event is one example of how we do that,” said Jeffrey S. Detwiler, president and chief operating officer of The Long & FosterCompanies, parent company of Long & Foster Real Estate. “It’s such a wonderful opportunity for our Long & Foster family to make an impact in our local communities, and everyone thoroughly enjoys contributing their time and effort. Whether it’s through our annual Community Service Day or one of our other charitable projects, we’re truly glad to give back.”

In addition to its dedication to serving the community, Long & Foster Real Estate is committed to the success of its sales associates and is an industry leader in providing the latest and best tools, technology and training. For more information, visit www.LongandFoster.com.
