MPT Promotes Travys Montague to Chief Engineer

Maryland Public Television (MPT) announced today that Travys C. Montague has been named chief engineer, Transmission & Distribution Department, Technology Division. Montague joined MPT in 2006 and has served as assistant chief engineer for the statewide public television network. In his new role, Montague is responsible for a team of four, managing all MPT broadcast facilities and transmission tower sites across Maryland.

Before joining MPT, he was chief engineer for Univision/Telefutura KTFQ-TV in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Prior to that, Montague served as engineering supervisor at CBS affiliate KBIM-TV in Roswell, New Mexico.

An alumnus of Eastern New Mexico University, Montague earned an associate of applied science degree in electronics and computer maintenance technology. He also holds an FCC general radiotelephone operator license, a radio frequency safety awareness certification, and other credentials in broadcasting and transmission.

He is a resident of Reisterstown, Maryland.
