Juetten to focus on identifying IP that fits Early Charm’s strategic growth objectives

Early Charm Ventures, a venture studio that converts science to business, today announced the hiring of Mark Juetten, PhD, as Intellectual Property Sourcing Associate.

Juetten, a Certified Licensing Professional (CLP) with significant experience licensing technology in the chemistry and materials science space, comes to Early Charm from Iowa State University where he most recently served as Commercialization Manager in the Office of Innovation and Commercialization. 

In this role at Iowa State, Juetten reviewed disclosed technologies for potential commercialization and, when appropriate, collaborated with patent counsel to develop strategies for intellectual property protections.

Juetten earned his BS in Polymer Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and a PhD in Organic Chemistry at Iowa State University.

At Early Charm, Juetten’s primary duties will be identifying intellectual property that fits the company’s strategic growth objectives of its four industry-focused company portfolios (drug design, custom materials, aquaculture technologies and machine vision). He’ll also lead negotiations for the licensing of intellectual property.
