LUTHERVILLE, Md. - The National Kidney Foundation Serving Maryland and Delaware (NKFMDDE) has elected Greg Miller to a two-year term as chair of its board of directors.

“I believe in the mission, support their impact both locally and nationally and enjoy working with those associated with the Foundation,” Miller said. “I welcome the board chair role and am honored to help refine the annual plan, become more involved on the medical advisory side and work more closely with our national office’s activities.”

As founder and principal executive with Hayland Advisors LLC, Miller is a management consultant and board advisor in non-profit and for-profit settings. He also serves as an investor in publicly traded, private equity and angel investing markets, and operates as an executive advisor and mentor for startup companies.

Miller launched the company in 2019 after acquiring 25 years of leadership experience helping organizations of all sizes solve business problems. He previously held corporate executive roles at Blue Cross Blue Shield, managing a range of responsibilities across IT and shared services organizations. Prior to that, he worked in Deloitte Consulting’s strategy and operations practice and held operational and management roles positions at Ameriprise Financial.

Miller earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota and an MBA from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, with some studies at the Australian Graduate School of Management. Additionally, he has certifications from the CFA Institute, Life Office Management Association and Axelos/ITIL. A Minnesota native, he relocated to Maryland in 2006 and now resides in Ellicott City.

While serving on the NKFMDDE board for the past five years, Miller has chaired the NKF Konica Minolta Golf Classic committee and supported additional fundraisers including the Greater Baltimore Kidney Walk, Santé: A Taste of Baltimore and Rappel for Kidney Health. He also represented the Foundation before the Maryland General Assembly.

“As our Foundation continues to be a big influence in the kidney community, we look forward to having Greg Miller lead us in our growth,” said Pattie Dash, executive director. “Our Foundation will benefit greatly from Greg’s leadership. He has been a valued board member for several years and understands the importance of our work to those impacted by kidney disease, as well as the continued education and outreach in our community.”
