Keswick Receives 4.5M in Funding to Expand Community Health Operations

9/25/19

At the one-year anniversary of its Wise & Well Center for Healthy Living, Keswick proves it’s the community health resource powerhouse it set out to be

The Keswick Foundation today announced it unanimously approved a grant request from Keswick Multi-Care and Keswick Community Health for incremental funding of $4.5 million to be utilized over the coming two to three years. The grant will fund operations to convey consistency of experience by integrating people, technology and processes and the continued growth of programming and resources aimed to serve the community.

The grant announcement comes as Keswick Community Health celebrates the one-year anniversary of its Wise & Well Center for Healthy Living, 14,000 square feet of dedicated space where active, older adults can socialize, exercise and embark on their health journey with a supportive team to help them along the way.

One of the major ways in which Keswick has already expanded its impact in the community health space is through partnerships with other community providers, including the state’s Communities for Life program (https://aging.maryland.gov/Pages/community-for-life.aspx) and Housing Upgrades to Benefit Seniors (HUBS), a multi-organization partnership supported by the Weinberg Foundation and the City of Baltimore.

Additionally, September 23 – 27 marks Falls Awareness Week where Keswick will partner with the State of Maryland’s Department of Aging. Keswick has a week of programming planned to educate the community about falls prevention, including sessions on how medication impacts your fall risk with a pharmacist, evaluating the safety of your home and how balanced nutrition can lower your risk.
