Baltimore Tech Company, Datastory, Recipient of Esri “Telling Stories with Maps Award”

Esri, the global leader in location intelligence, honored select partners for their extraordinary application of GIS software during the Plenary Session at the annual 2019 Esri Partner Conference in Palm Springs, California. Datastory, a Baltimore-based tech company took home the Telling Stories with Maps Award for their work in helping businesses make better decisions by offering sophisticated data analysis and insight, and combining this with narrative text and images to harness the power of maps and geography. “I’m so proud of the Datastory team,” said Matt Felton, Datastory president. “This kind of storytelling requires a special mix of skills in data visualization, location analytics, graphic design, and writing. We’re thrilled to be recognized on the international stage by Jack Dangermond, founder and president of Esri, for our hard work.”

Datastory also recently received widespread recognition for creating compelling story maps for the Greater Washington Area’s bid for Amazon HQ2 and the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation’s Strength in Numbers campaign.
