Baltimore-based social polling and market research company, won Best Startup at the Tribe Tokyo II International Business Summit hosted by TeamZ Entertainment. The competition featured 25 startups from all over the world who were invited based on their product, traction, and potential for success. Arbit was selected to attend the event by Olumide Gbenro, Event Chairman, after coming across the company over the Summer.
Co-Founders Alex Bullington and Greg DiNardo traveled to Tokyo on Tuesday, September 19th local time and arrived on Wednesday, September 20th after the 16 hour journey. The competition featured 9 judges, 4 of whom were from the United States: Elite Daily founder Gerrard Adams, serial entrepreneurs Peter Voogd and Timothy Sykes, and Fifth Avenue Brands CEO Richard Lorenzen. The team discussed its traction as a standalone app, and also honed in on its plans to expand Arbit across multiple online platforms as a real-time mobile market research tool.
The judges were impressed with the company's product, traction, team and ability to expand its offering through whitelabeling. The team will reconnect with these investors through a series of in-person meetings over the next few weeks as it continues to develop its product, raise capital, bring on customers, and expand its team locally.
