When the subject of a leadoff hitter comes up, Orioles manager Buck Showalter invariably mentions there aren't many prototypical No. 1 batters in baseball.
That subject will come up early and often when the team's camp officially opens Feb. 13.
Despite Showalter suggesting he would like to move center fielder Adam Jones out of the leadoff spot at last year's end of season news conference, there really don't seem to be many solid alternatives.
At FanFest Jan. 28, Jones said he didn't care where he batted and would lead off again in 2017 if asked.
