The Orioles are nearing an extremely dangerous point of demarcation.
In a recent appearance on 105.7 The Fan's "Hot Stove Show," right-hander Chris Tillman said he wants to remain an Oriole beyond 2017, and he added that both sides are discussing an extension. While there has been no news of an extension, Tillman said he anticipates talks will heat up during spring training. He also stressed that, once the season begins, he'd rather not be distracted by contract negotiations.
Tillman has not indicated he'll leave if he's not signed by Opening Day. But the reality is clear: if the Orioles do not sign Tillman before April 3, the 2017 season will be his last in orange and black.
