If you claim to be a true Baltimore sports fan, you need to have been to a Morgan State University versus Coppin State University basketball game at least once.
That was the "hot-fire" portion of this particular column. But I'm going to choose to follow up anyway. I believe there to be a handful of things outside of the obvious events (Orioles Opening Day, Ravens/Steelers, Preakness) that fans have to experience to truly claim to be well-rounded Baltimore sports fans. Two of them just so happen to be on tap Jan. 27 and 28. One is "The Game," the high school girls' basketball rivalry between Mercy High School and the Institute of Notre Dame, which takes place Jan. 27.
The other is Morgan State/Coppin State, which takes place Jan. 28.
