The NFL is reportedly considering doing away with "Thursday Night Football" in light of substandard matchups, declining ratings, a poor caliber of play and subsequent fan complaints.
But this week, I won't complain, since this Thursday marks my 53rd birthday -- yes, I still count them, and I know many of you don't -- and there's actually a pretty good matchup on the books (Dallas-Minnesota).
Being in this line of work, watching, talking and writing about football has served as the most important part of my life, which has many more years to run, knock on wood.
