Now that the University of Maryland football team finished the regular season 6-6 and will participate in some sort of bowl game, can we consider head coach DJ Durkin's first season a success?
Can a 6-6 season with a trip to a low-level bowl game (most experts seemed to have the Terps pegged to participate in all of the pageantry of Detroit's Quick Lane Bowl) be considered a success?
Perhaps an appropriate slogan to describe the season would have been, "Maryland Football 2016: It Sure As Hell Could Have Been Worse." I know that's tough to fit on a T-shirt, so maybe just, "2016 Terps? Could Have Been Worse!" for screen printing purposes.
