Former outfielder Vladimir Guerrero witnessed the beginning of the Orioles' turnaround. His last major league at-bat came in the eighth inning of the now famous "Curse of the Andino" game.
Guerrero went a quiet 0-for-4 in the Sept. 28, 2011 game that ended the Boston Red Sox playoff hopes, and the one that gave Orioles fans some encouragement that their anguish was near an end.
Guerrero was one of 10 former Orioles named on this year's list of 39 candidates for the Baseball Hall of Fame. The results will be announced Jan. 18, 2017.
