I guess these last 10 days or so have been filled with surprises.
First, almost every pollster alive predicted, some with as high as 98 percent certainty, that Hillary Clinton would become the first female President of the United States and 45th President of our great country.
And now, the news that Orioles closer Zach Britton could not even muster enough of the voting points from the two writers in each of the 30 MLB markets to even be among the three announced finalists for the American League Cy Young Award.
Ultimately, a starter won the award, as Boston's Rick Porcello, who went 22-4 with a 3.15 ERA, narrowly got past Detroit Tigers veteran right-hander Justin Verlander. Porcello received 137 points in voting, Verlander tallied 132 and the Indians' Corey Kluber came in third place with 98 points.
