Has DJ Durkin Made Progress With Terps?

Throughout the last few weeks, it's been difficult to be a Maryland football fan due to the seemingly never-ending rash of hard-to-watch games. Of course, when I say that, I am really only talking about whenever the Terps play anyone that is anyone.

Take this season, for instance. Despite a 4-0 start and having been one win away from bowl eligibility for three weeks, it seems this most modest goal of six wins is in grave doubt. It will take an unlikely win at Nebraska Nov. 19 or a home win against Rutgers Nov. 26 for the Terps to make the postseason. That's because, after a solid 28-17 win at home against Michigan State Oct. 22, the Terps have now been shellacked en route to three straight losses (a 42-36 loss at Indiana Oct. 29; a 59-3 loss at Michigan Nov. 5; and 62-3 loss vs. Ohio State Nov. 12). All told, during the past three losses, the Terps have been outscored, 163-42.

So, here's the question -- has head coach DJ Durkin moved the needle on Terps football in any discernible way?
