Race fans may have one of their last opportunities to watch one of the most popular horses of all-time compete in a stakes race when the 31st Jim McKay Maryland Million rolls out an 11-race card Oct. 22, at Laurel Park. First post time is 12:15 p.m.
Ben's Cat, the 10-year old gelding who has defied time, will go to the gate in the $100,000 Sprint trying to break the record for most Maryland Million wins (he has three) and tie the record for oldest winner (matching La Reine's Terms in 2005).
Ben's Cat will leave from the No. 1 post position and face eight challengers, including Rockinn On Bye, Final Prospect and Magritte.
