Following two early-season losses, the Stevenson University women's volleyball team embarked on an eight-game winning streak. With that streak, the Mustangs seemed to be on track for a sixth consecutive NCAA tournament berth.
However, they followed that stretch with five consecutive losses. The unusual downturn dropped the Mustangs' record to 9-7 entering the season's second half.
"We play a really difficult schedule, and it just so happened that we faced a lot of really good teams together," Stevenson head coach Dave Trumbo said. "We lost four in a row on one weekend. But the kids enjoy playing that kind of competition."
