The firing of Ravens offensive coordinator Marc Trestman Oct. 10 is actually the third in-season firing of an offensive coordinator during majority owner Steve Bisciotti's tenure.
Everyone will immediately point to Cam Cameron's firing Dec. 10, 2012, and how that propelled the John Harbugh-led team to a Super Bowl XLVII victory. At that point, so late in the season, there was clearly a nothing-to-lose mentality, and the decision was deemed by Harbaugh at the time as "the hardest thing I've ever had to do." He also said he felt firing Cameron maximized his team's opportunity to win.
The Ravens' head coach went on to cite how Cameron was a friend, had taught Harbaugh a lot about coaching and said he was still good football coach. Cameron went on to a three-plus-year run as former-LSU head coach Les Miles' offensive coordinator, with his and Miles' contracts terminated Sept. 25.
