Brandon Cohen came across the country to attend Goucher College. Now the freshman forward is lifting the Gophers' men's soccer program to its best season in many years.
The native of Redondo Beach, Calif., has played a major role during Goucher's fast start. Cohen's team-leading eight goals and 19 points have guided the Gophers to a 6-2-4 record and enabled head coach Bryan Laut's team to equal its 2015 win total with three weeks remaining in the regular season. Cohen's latest goal helped Goucher defeat Catholic University, 2-0, Oct. 5.
"We're much more technical this year," said Cohen, who leads not only the Gophers in goals and points but also the Landmark Conference. "Coach tells us to go 100 percent on every ball and tackle, and I've been finishing when I need to."
