With the first quarter of the season completed, the Ravens sit at 3-1. But how good have they really looked?
Here is Ravens Reports' first-quarter report card:
QUARTERBACK: It wouldn't be much of a shock if the majority of the Ravens' fan base still harbored worries about Joe Flacco's surgically repaired left knee. But Flacco, despite taking more punishment in the pocket than he is accustomed to, is holding up fine. He has outperformed what he did during the first four games of last season, with a completion percentage of 63.5 -- which would be the second-highest of his career if the season ended now -- a passer rating of 79.3 and one fewer interception than 2015's corresponding point (4-5). But Flacco also has one fewer touchdown, thanks in part to a career-low 6.3 yards per attempt, a combination of wanting to get the ball out more quickly in the face of the rush and a still-evolving chemistry with his receivers. The deep shots have been there, but they have been fewer and farther between than anticipated.
