Parkville football head coach Justin Payne admits his team is in uncharted waters after the attention it received this week. Payne was confident he had a special group heading into this season, but he had hoped to remain under the radar for as long as possible so as to be able to catch Parkville's opponents off guard.
That all changed Sept. 24 when the Knights topped perennial Baltimore County powerhouse Perry Hall, 21-14. It was the first time Parkville topped the Gators since Sept. 26, 2009. The victory gave Parkville a 2-1 mark for the season and announced to the Baltimore area the Knights shouldn't be taken lightly this season, after managing three combined wins during the past two.
The big victory has led to an onslaught of media attention for the Knights and Payne, who's in his second year as the team's head coach.
