The Orioles were two outs away Sept. 28 from dropping their second straight game to the Blue Jays and falling into a tie for the second Wild Card spot.
That's when Hyun Soo Kim saved the day -- and possibly the season.
Kim's dramatic two-run, pinch-hit home run in the top of the ninth inning led the Orioles to a memorable 3-2 victory in Toronto, helping them maintain their hold on a postseason spot and pull back within one game of the Jays for the first Wild Card berth.
Kim, after a one-out single from Jonathan Schoop, stepped to the plate in place of Nolan Reimold to face Jays closer Roberto Osuna. Kim worked a nine-pitch at-bat, the last of which was a fastball that he swatted over the right field fence. It was Kim's sixth home run of the year, and by far the most important of his brief major league career.
